Weather-bound

Two words you don't want to see in the marine forecast: gale warning. A nasty front is coming in this evening and will result in 4-7 foot seas on the Delaware River, which is to say that we're staying put in Cape May, where we arrived last evening. Fortunately, we have been warmly welcomed once again by the US Coast Guard, who gave us a dock and pointed out the showers (awfully quick to do that, I noticed...). After checking the forecast this morning, it looks like things won't die down until late Friday night, so we'll be staying put right through Saturday morning. Looks like we'll get our first crack at experiencing the cruising lifestyle of laying over in port and doing some land-based exploring, which is a much-needed respite from being on the water for five days straight. In November. What were we thinking??
